We Win Our First Major Wine Awards! (Mon/23/08/2010 @ 11:25:32)
On Sunday 22nd August, Holmfirth Vineyard was awarded 2 fantastic wine awards from the Mercian Vineyards Association annual wine tasting competition for our White and Rose wines. Over 160 wines were entered, our Rose Holme View 2009 English wine received the award of Highly Commended, and our 2009 White wine HD9 went one better and received a Bronze medal. A gasp rung out around the room when the result was announced. The competition judges were very strict this year and we noticed wines that had been put in to the same competition last year performed lower this year with the judges harder marking.
NEW PLANS PASSED! (Fri/13/08/2010 @ 13:51:19)
On Thursday
12th August 2010 Kirklees council passed plans for the new wine tasting centre and 7 self catering apartments for Holmfirth Vineyard. The new Visitors centre will open in April 2011 with the new holiday apartments being ready for guests in June/July 2011. The Designs, by JJ Bolchover of Honley, incorporate a eco building which is underground and completely carbon zero.

Free Wine For English Wine Week (Mon/17/05/2010 @ 17:54:00)
For English Wine week 2010, Holmfirth Vineyard is offering tour customers a special guest wine on top of its normal wines when a vineyard tour is taken between 29th May and 6th of June. We hope to bring other fabulous wines from around the country to give customers a further insight into other
UK wines and vineyards. Tours are still the great price of £4.00 per person including 3 wines and the guest wine.

Build a New Life in the Country series starts again on 15th June @ 9pm on Channel 5, with Holmfirth Vineyard as the first in its popular series.
Follow Bec & Ian's progress over the last 12 months restoring their Grade II listed farmhouse and planting 7000 vines by hand to create Holmfirth Vineyard.

On
the 10th March 2009 Ian and Becky, the owners of Holmfirth Vineyard were invited by Graham Livers and his BBC Radio team for an interview to discuss the new business venture of Holmfirth Vineyard.
As well as Graham interviewing, Jimmy Osmond made a surprise visit to the studio and added his own questions to the interview, which were found to be most entertaining.
