2012 will go down as strange year for many English Vineyards, but at Holmfirth Vineyard we still achieved a successful quality pick, even if the volume was a little down on what we would have hoped for. The picking was tackled by a number of vineyard full time staff not just from the winery but also the visitor centre, with the added bonus this year we were also given an extra boost by Tony Haigh from Holmfirth Rotary Club who volunteered his precious spare time to help, thank you Tony.

A gasp rung out around the room when the result was announced. The competition judges were very strict this year and we noticed wines that had been put in to the same competition last year performed lower this year with the judges harder marking.
