Building on the fantastic success of 2011 with the expansion of vineyard tours and the opening of our new visitors centre, shop and restaurant, we are pleased to announce that we will now be open 7 days a week from the 1st February 2012 for vineyard tours, wine sales and food in the restaurant.
On Sunday 22nd August, Holmfirth Vineyard was awarded 2 fantastic wine awards from the Mercian Vineyards Association annual wine tasting competition for our White and Rose wines. Over 160 wines were entered, our Rose Holme View 2009 English wine received the award of Highly Commended, and our 2009 White wine HD9 went one better and received a Bronze medal. A gasp rung out around the room when the result was announced. The competition judges were very strict this year and we noticed wines that had been put in to the same competition last year performed lower this year with the judges harder marking.
