Welcome and thank you for visiting Holmfirth Vineyard and restaurant. We have a brand new range of English Wine and vineyard tours, wine related gifts and store features. You can also make purchases of wine, vineyard gift certificates and other goods at the vineyard and online 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Holmfirth Vineyard Wine can be purchased online or from the Vineyard 7 days a week during shop and restaurant opening times, 9.30-6pm Sunday to Thursday and 9.30-8.30pm Friday and Saturday other evenings also available for private groups and tours.
Holmfirth vineyard is situated at Woodhouse Farm and is a seven acre vineyard, planted with 7000 vines, the farm was originally a sheep rearing business until August 2007. The vineyard sits in the beautiful location of Holmfirth, in the Holme Valley of West Yorkshire and is surrounded by panoramic views of the
Peak
District
National Park home to ‘The last of the summer wine’ TV series.
There are 5 main varieties of grape all planted by hand; 3 red varieties which are Rondo, Regent and Acolon plus 2 white varieties Ortega and Solaris. These vines have been chosen because they have been developed specifically to compliment & grow well in cooler climates. They are disease resistant and ripen mid to late October. The grapes are processed on site in Holmfirth Vineyards new purpose built winery.
